King George County Takes Action to Replace RBHS Roof

One of the aspects of the ageing Ralph Bunche High School building that is in urgent need of repair is the roof. Currently, because the condition of the roof is not sound, it is accelerating damage to other parts of the building.
This week, King George County has taken a major step toward the restoration of the historic Ralph Bunche High School building by addressing the roof problem. Cathy Dyson reported on May 12, 2022 in The Free Lance-Star:
On Tuesday, [County Administrator Chris Miller] will announce the awarding of a contract to replace the school roof. The county got a $500,000 grant from the National Park Service last summer and Miller hopes efforts could produce similar results going forward.

The full restoration of the Ralph Bunche High School building will be an extensive and costly project, but advancements such as the actions recently taken by King George County give us confirmation that our efforts are finally beginning to make a difference!
